Fewer but Better Things

A Catalogue of Considered Objects · Est. 2026

Fewer,
but better
things.

A small house of furniture, lamps, and books. Each object is chosen, not assembled — for honest material, quiet form, and a useful life that outlasts the season it was bought in.

Vol. Nº 01 The Spring Edit 21 objects · 7 makers MMXXVI
Manifesto · Nº 01

"Good design is as little design as possible. Less, but better — because it concentrates on the essential aspects, and the products are not burdened with non-essentials."

— after Dieter Rams, our patron in absentia

i.

Honest material.

Walnut should look like walnut. Brass should oxidize. We do not stain plywood to imitate something it is not.

ii.

Quiet form.

The shape of the object should disappear into use. If a chair announces itself across the room, it is the wrong chair.

iii.

Slow making.

Small editions, named makers. Lead times are honest, not artificial. Some things take six weeks because they take six weeks.

iv.

Long use.

An object you keep for thirty years is cheaper, kinder, and more interesting than one you replace four times.

The Edit

Three objects we kept thinking about this season.

Curated quarterly. When an object leaves the Edit, it does not return until we have something to add to its case.

The Workshop

Numbers we keep, on purpose.

A small catalogue is a slow promise. These are the constraints we hold ourselves to, season after season.

21
Objects · Vol. 01

A complete season fits in a single page. We add one only when something else can leave.

07
Named makers

Every piece carries a workshop, a town, and the hands that made it. No house brand pretending to be a community.

40yrs
Median useful life

Each listing carries an honest estimate of years of use. We'd rather sell you one chair than four.

Repair, in perpetuity

If we sold it, we'll fix it — or we'll find the workshop that can. The receipt is permanent.

06 ·
Notebook

Letters from the workshop.

Quiet writing about the objects, the people who made them, and the rooms they end up in.
